Former students from the Art School of Murcia, Pascual Martínez and Vincent Sáez, will open next 22 February the exhibition “Evergreen” to celebrate 10 years with the Erasmus program at the Art School.
“Evergreen” shows the evolution of the Project named “Nature Citizens” which started in 2014 with an artist residency in Bucharest, where they searched for the relation of Romanians with their own nature. The project, shown in Bucharest and Brasov, went on developing during the summer of 2015 thanks to a grant from the Romanian Cultural Institute and focused on getting to know people, all along the country, whose lifestyle was linked to their natural environment or depended on it to a great extent.
“The tree of life is eternally green” is the ultimate name of the project which finished in 2017 with an over 3000 kilometres journey during the cold Romanian winter and which will materialise in spring with the publishing of a photobook.
The relationship between humans, their nature, the environment and the origin, is shown through the images in this project, unveiling an unfamiliar and positive aspect of Romanian society.

They carry out independent projects reflecting upon identity from a natural environment perspective as the main axis of their speech, trying to transmit and represent new realities far away from clichés.
Their photo essay called “The tree of life is eternally green” (originally “Nature/Citizens”) has been selected at “Descubrimientos PhotoEspaña 2015” and “Encontros da Imagem 2014” in Braga (Portugal), finalist at “Barcelona International Photography Awards (BIPA) Lens Culture 2015” and at “20 Fotopres La Caixa”.
