ERASMUS WELCOME 2018. BIENVENIDA ERASMUS 2018
El pasado jueves 19 de octubre, un nutrido grupo de alumnos de la Escuela de Arte de Murcia, de las distintas especialidades, acompañó a los alumnos Erasmus presentes este curso, a una jornada de convivencia en la localidad murciana de Águilas. Fue un día inolvidable con un sol radiante y una temperatura envidiable, donde visitaron, entre otros, la Playa del Hornillo, con su famoso embarcadero, gran obra arquitectónica construida a base de hierro y hormigón por el ingeniero británico Gustavo Gillman. Posteriormente visitaron el Centro de Interpretación del Mar que les sirvió para comprender y disfrutar del patrimonio natural y cultural marítimo de Águilas. Más tarde, desayunaron en el centro del pueblo, donde pudieron degustar unos deliciosos churros con chocolate. A continuación, visitaron el Castillo de San Juan de las Águilas, donde los profesores de historia Ricardo Baeza y Pepe Cuervo, en compañía de las profesoras Helena García y Elena Paje, les explicaron a los alumnos los aspectos más relevantes de esta fortaleza cuyos orígenes se remontan a la época cartaginense, explicación que fue acompañada de traducción simultanea por el coordinador Erasmus Pedro De Alba. Tras disfrutar de las excelentes vistas desde el castillo, se dirigieron al Museo Arqueológico Municipal de Águilas que alberga materiales expuestos desde la Prehistoria hasta la época islámica. La comida se realizó en una terraza de la localidad y para terminar la jornada disfrutaron de un rato de esparcimiento en la Playa de Poniente. Fue una jornada inolvidable que sirvió para estrechar lazos con los alumnos Erasmus y darles la bienvenida a la Escuela de Arte y a nuestra Región.
Last Thursday, October 19th, a large group of students from Murcia School of Arts, from different specialties, accompanied the Erasmus students present this course, a day of getting together in the town of Águilas in Murcia. It was an unforgettable day with a splendid sun and an enviable weather, where, among others, Playa del Hornillo, with its famous wharf, a great architectural work built with iron and concrete by the British engineer Gustave Gillman was visited. Later they visited the Centre of Sea Interpretation that helped them to understand and enjoy the natural and cultural marine heritage of Águilas. Then, they had breakfast in the center of town, where they could taste delicious churros with chocolate. Next, they visited the Castle of San Juan de las Aguilas, where the history teachers Ricardo Baeza and Pepe Cuervo, in the company of teachers Helena García and Elena Paje, explained the most important aspects of this fortress whose origins go back to the Carthaginian era, an explanation that was accompanied by simultaneous translation by the Erasmus coordinator Professor Pedro De Alba. After enjoying the excellent views from the castle, they went to the Municipal Archaeological Museum of Águilas that houses materials exposed from prehistory to the Islamic era. Lunch was made in a terrace in the town centre and to end up the day they enjoyed some time at Playa de Poniente. It was an unforgettable day that served to strengthen ties with Erasmus students and welcome them to our School of Arts and to our Region.
